The ProTec Ace ShovelHead Fullface BMX, Downhill Racing, Freeriding and Bike Helmet takes a classic round silhouette, incorporates strategically placed ventilation ports and the revolutionary SXP Multiple Impact technology to create the new choice of head protection for the fastest racers on the circuit. The Shovelhead optimizes an outer shell made of composite fiberglass combined with Pro-tec's exclusive SXP Multiple Impact liner to create a full face helmet that is extremely low profile, lightweight and exceptionally durable. The Shovelhead is made with full Fiberglass composite construction designed to withstand much greater impacts than other less expensive helmets. The Shovelhead exceeds the CPSC standards and meets the Downhill standard but still not large or strong enough to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) certifications required for motorcycle use. The Shovelhead is definitely adequate for big hit freeriding and Downhill racing. Venting is very functional yet indiscreet. Four large vents under the visor channel air into the helmet and three main exhaust vents pull heat from the helmet. The Shovelhead uses the B2 SXP liner for improved fit and plenty of soft cushy interior pads to maintain comfort and wick moisture.
